The number one cause of roof leaks are protrusions such as boots and stacks.  We take preventative steps to ensure the elimination of leaks.  The first step we take to prevent leaking in these prone areas is to use lead boots.  Many roofing contractors will use plastic flanges that will dry out and crack quickly, leaving many fissures and holes for water to seep in to.  In addition to using lead boots, we use a double layer of asphalt mastic at the time of installation.  A layer of mastic is applied to the deck and the boot is set into it and nailed down.  Once the boot is secure a second layer of asphalt mastic is applied and the shingles are installed over it.
For a finishing touch all boots and stacks are painted to match your roof.  We use accessory paint that is specially designed and formulated to blend in with the color of your roof.  This extra touch allows your home's new roof to have a continuous look throughout.
