Tile Flashings

With every roof we install, we replace all the drip edge flashings.  The drip edge is installed using the "Sandwich-Strip" method.  The "Sandwich-Strip" method is achieved by using an inverted piece of POLYSTICK TU Plus on the underside of the drip edge, the drip edge is then nailed down and POLYSTICK TU Plus is used to cover the entire deck creating a sandwich effect along the flashings.  Drip edge comes from the factory with a polyester baked on enamel finish.  The drip edge comes in brown, white and gray.  Having the drip edge pre-finished will save you time and money in painting and will give your roof a great finished look.  If the drip edge colors do not match to your liking, the metal is factory primed and ready to be painted.

Valley areas are done in the "Sandwich-Strip" method, much the same way the drip edge is installed.  An inverted piece of POLYSTICK TU Plus is laid underneath the valley metal, once this is done the specially made valley metal is laid into place and nailed six inch on center the entire length of the valley.  Once the valley metal is secured another layer of POLYSTICK TU Plus is applied over the valley's.  This "Sandwich-Strip" method helps waterproof the most leak prone area of any roof.  During the tile installation, tiles around the valley are mitered and put into place in the valley.  Mitering the valley tiles allows a tight fit and keeps the sunlight from beating down onto the valleys.  Over time the intense sunlight will break down the underlayment making your home prone to leaking.
