Top two pictures illustrate the Duro-Last deck sheets installed on a flat roof.  The white membrane was custom made to the specifications of the deck.
The bottom two pictures illustrate some of the problems associated with roll goods.  The left picture shows the cracking and breaking down of the asphalt based roll good.  This is due to the expanding and contracting of the material in the intense Southwest Florida heat.  The picture on the right hand side illustrates how the seams lift from the roof deck and water will now penetrate the roof.

Setting Kelly Roofing Apart - Deck Sheets

Having a flat roof system with a prefabricated deck sheet gives your roof less chance for leaks.  The Duro-Last deck sheets are factory made in panels of up to 2,500 square feet to your specifications.  For areas over 2,500 square feet, additional panels will be produced and will be heat-welded to another panel creating a seamless roof.  Other flat roof systems come in roll goods of 100 feet.  These roll goods would have to be cut and pieced together on the job site, leaving more potential for labor error.
Another key difference between Duro-Last and other types of flat roof systems, is the use of tar.  With our environment being the way it is, tar breaks down extremely fast.  Living in a coastal region puts our homes and businesses in the path of sea spray.  Sea spray mixed with the sun's harmful UV ray and summer rains, can destroy an asphalt-based roof system.  The sea spray and UV rays cause the asphalt to expand and contract, cracking and breaking it down.  The cracks and fissures created by our environment allow for moisture to seep through, creating leaks in the roof.  Duro-Last does not have this problem because the roofing membrane is a tar-free system.
Ponding water is also a major concern of home and business owners.  With the Duro-Last roofing system, there are no exclusions for ponding water and it is not necessary to have positive slope drainage.  With the other flat roof systems ponding water that sits for over 48 hours will void the warranty making your maintenance costs rise.  Ponding water also breaks down asphalt based materials.  Water that ponds on asphalt based materials will eventually seep through and cause damage, because the material is porous.  Duro-Last does not have this problem, as it is a synthetic product.
